When people told me that everything changes after high school, I did not believe them. They said you lose your friends and everything changes. I said they were wrong. I went to college, made perfect amazing friends, and still said those people were wrong. I had my other friends at home and that was that.
Coming back for summer, I finally realize everyone was right. EVERYTHING changes. Home is not your home anymore. Your friends are not the same as they used to be. Your life is not just going to pick up where you left it 9 months ago.
I was dumb for thinking it would. I was dumb for thinking we would be any different. I was dumb for being excited to come “home”.
